Pinwheels for Peace

Pinwheels for Peace

We participated in the Pinwheels for Peace project on World Peace Day- we actually had to postpone it one day since we had a rainstorm and didn't want our pinwheels to get wet.

We had about 300 pinwheels made by my art students and Mrs. Dyer's Science students. The pinwheels were beautiful and really made our temporary bungalow village campus look brighter.

These are hand designs by the sixth graders exploring the element of line. They also wrote poems about the designs and what they mean. Posted by Hello

The sixth graders made Egyptian designs on marble tiles. The assignment was to use the style of drawing the Egyptians used on tomb walls to show themselves as a pharoah or queen and to incorporate some things from the modern world that has something to do with them. We used colored markers, watercolors, colored pencils, and oil pastels and added gold highlights with metallic markers.  Posted by Hello

These are some artist research posters we made. Posted by Hello
